BRINGING ENJOYMENT INTO THE GARDEN
We do believe the garden should be there to be enjoyed. If space allows we would love to bring fun activities into the garden design. These include volley ball courts, bomas for a bonfire and of course putting greens. Never forgetting the kids, if space allows, then a wendy house will be ideal.
Putting Greens
These are becoming more popular in the garden design. Requests range from a small area to a full putt putt course.
The lawn that is used is either synthetic lawn which ranges in pricing depending on wether it is imported or not. This is the lower maintenance option as opposed to the natural Gulf Green lawn which requires significant maintenance and is susceptible to frost and will brown in winter.
We have used a putting mat in this case, which is the least maintenance and most durable. It will also provide you with a very fast surface on which to putt.
Designign the putting green into the garden not only results in fun for the golfers but for the family as a whole.
Combining planting with the putting green as well as the use of water features, allows the garden to become an exciting place to have an adventure. Planting should be strong and focal and should be selected so that in years to come it will not hamper the golfers game! Have fun, bring some activity into your garden. Volley Ball Courts
These are particularly good fun for the family as a whole. Where space allows let us assist you in designing your very own volley ball court. We use play pen sand which is then softened on the border with bags to prevent any accidents. A fun way to enjoy the garden!.
Bomas for a Bonfire
Usually braai areas are kept closer to the house so as to provide easy access when cooking and entertaining. When getting out into the garden why not look at building a fire area where you can sit around an open fire and enjoy. Green by Nature works with many artists to try and make this appealing on the eye. Below is a mould which looks like a tree stump but is safe enough to use as a base on which to have a fire. A great way to feel like you are in the bush and to enjoy the garden at night. In addiiton you may want to build a pergola away from the house which allows you to move out into the garden.
Kiddies areas
These are our favourite places to design. Children are our favourite clients. They love colour, texture and smells. We bring a wendy house into their space and plant up with lots of colour. In addition we like to combine the herb and Vegie garden with the childrens garden. Herbs leave a wonderfull aroma when touched and children love touching plants. These are all safe if eaten as well! Allow the child to be active in the garden and you will be amazed at how much they will become mini gardeners, planting their own packets of seedlings. Generally we recommend that children sow seeds so they learn to nurture and row plants. This will teach them to respect mother nature and to see that with love plants will grow strong and healthily.
Other ideas include of course the jungle gym and the trampoline. A garden is very happy to accomodate these for the little ones and a childs laughter in the garden is so wonderfull to hear.
